The current settings cannot be modified because the settings are factory defined.  If you want to modify the settings you must create a new configuration.

The “{{appname}} Settings” file is in use or damaged. It's location is “{{1:%P}}:{{appname}} Settings”

There is a {{appname}} Settings file in your System Folder and in your Preferences Folder.  The settings file in your Preferences Folder will be used.
